Water Damage Mitigation

From pipe bursts to flooding, water damage can be devastating. Because of this, restoration and mitigation services must be prompt and effective. This process consists of extracting standing water or left over water in porous materials such as carpets or drywall. When handled properly, it reduces the damage caused by the disaster. The longer water damage is left untreated, the higher the risk of microbial growth. Mold growth can cause serious health risks if not removed or decontaminated.

It is CC Restorations’ goal to offer swift and effective restoration and mitigation services to help recover your home or business. To determine the right course of action we evaluate the amount of damage, degree of contamination, and replacement cost versus restoration costs.

It is important to know the right people to take action on the water removal of your property. Our water damage restoration and mitigation services include:

• Source Elimination – We’ll find the source of the water and ensure it is completely stopped.
• Identifying Type and Extent of Damage – We’ll inspect the building and assess what kind of damage has occurred.
• Evaluating the Loss – The evaluation state involves determining the type of water damage (Category 1, 2, or 3) and level of contamination. This will determine what stays and what goes based on those factors. Categories 1-3 are determined by the following:
  • Category 1 – The water loss originates from a sanitary source such as sink overflow, tub, broken water line, or rainwater.
  • Category 2 – This water contains significant contamination from sources such as washing machines overflow/discharge, dishwashers, toilet bowl overflow (some urine, no feces), or a broken aquarium.
  • Category 3 – This water loss originates from sewage, waste line backup or flooding from seawater, rivers and streams. It is grossly contaminated and can contain pathogens, toxins, or other harmful agents.
• Water Removal – Extraction is used to remove standing water and evaporation is used to remove excess moisture that remains.
• Drying – Once water has been removed, drying must take place as quickly and thoroughly as possible. The environment and materials must be dried out.
• Loss Mitigation – We’ll work together to limit the potential damage that can occur in the future. This can include things such as moving or raising furniture, securing or packing out belongings that could be impacted by the excess moisture.
